PRICE – Utah State University Eastern has named Scott Madsen as its Director of Athletics.
“Scott has been serving as an interim director of athletics for several months,” said Greg Dart, USU Eastern Chief Administrator. “We are excited to have him continue in the role permanently.”
Madsen has served as the Interim Athletic Director at USU Eastern since January and was previously an Assistant AD over Advancement. He also has been the USU Eastern Head Baseball Coach for the past 16 years.
“I feel privileged to be named to this position after being the interim for the past seven months. I feel like the Athletic Department is moving in the right direction and I hope I can continue to build off the success that I have had,” said Madsen.
“I have really enjoyed working with all the coaches here and I feel like we have a good environment in our department.”
Before taking over the baseball program at USU Eastern, Madsen was an assistant baseball coach for the Eagles.
Madsen holds a bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University and a master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University.
He grew up in Idaho Falls and is married to the former Denice Donaldson. The couple has five children and reside in Price.
He will begin in his new role on August 1, 2019.
USU Eastern Athletics is home to seven NJCAA Division I programs along with a Collegiate Rodeo team, eSports team and Spirit Squad which features a cheer squad, dance team, and drum line.
